Family Earth Day

Join us for some sustainable fun with a range of activities including story time, crafts, games, drawing workshops and you can even bring your own recycled pot to plant some sunflower seeds! No need to book, just come along and join in the fun!
11:00am – Rat a Tat Tales – Story Pit – Children’s Library
It’s a special environmental themed Rat a Tat tales! Author Helen Wendy Cooper will read us a story from her book ‘The Kissing Tree’ followed by some fun activities! Suitable for ages 0-5 years.
11:30am-2:00pm – Grow Your Own Sunflower – Wet and Dry – Children’s Library
Bring along a small, recycled container (i.e., yoghurt pot, bottom of a plastic bottle) to plant your own sunflower seeds, take them home and watch them grow! This drop-in activity will be available in the children’s library and has been kindly provided by St Peter’s Garden centre.
11:30am, 12:15pm and 1:30pm – Bird Drawing Workshop – The Hub – Level 1
Led by the University of Worcester, this informal drop-in workshop will show you how to create a simple bird illustration which you can take home with you! Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult.
11:00am-2:00pm - The Severn Rising 2222 Game – Children’s Library
Andrew Round from Paradise Multimedia and Sarah Millin, illustrator, will be showing their environmental game ‘The Severn Rising 2222’ in the children’s library. The new interactive and immersive game brings together illustration and animation in a flooded Worcester, set 200 years in the future. ‘Mr Duck’, will also be handing out bags of swan food to families who play and evaluate the game. All Day - Giant Earth Balloon – Atrium
Come and see the wonder that is plant Earth with this giant inflatable globe located in the Atrium. Don’t forget to take a selfie and tag us in it!
