The Hive will be hosting an evening with Booker Prize nominated Worcestershire author, Jim Crace who will be discussing his body of work and approach to writing.
Following a successful career in journalism, Jim Crace turned his hand to novel-writing in the 1980’s and has since published a dozen critically acclaimed novels alongside collections of short stories. His novels include; Continent (winner of the 1986 Whitbread First Novel Award and the Guardian Fiction Prize), Quarantine (1998 Whitbread Novel of the Year and shortlisted for the Booker Prize), Being Dead (winner of the 2001 National Book Critics Circle Award), Harvest (shortlisted for the 2013 Man Booker Prize and winner of the International Dublin Literary Award and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize) and The Melody.
Jim was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1999 and has worked as a visiting professor at the University of Texas, USA. After many years living in Birmingham, Jim and his family have spent the last decade living in Worcestershire.
