Print and copy facilities for customers at The Hive

Print and copy facilities for customers at The Hive are being upgraded from 12th June. This means that the Hive will have a different provider for copy/print than other Worcestershire County Council Libraries.

If you do not use the print facility at The Hive, this will not affect you.

If you do use the print facilities at The Hive this please read the following.

Your credit will be affected in one of two ways:

1. Customers who have ONLY printed at The Hive in the past, will have their credit transferred over to the new system automatically. You can use your library card on the new system to release prints as you have done previously. If you have a problem with your balance, pop in and visit one of our IT support desks for assistance on Level 3 of the Hive Monday – Friday 8:30-5pm or Saturday 10-5pm

2. Customers who have printed at The Hive AND other branch libraries (or ONLY branch libraries), will have their credit retained for use on the old system – ie. in Worcestershire Libraries  OTHER than The Hive. Should you wish to transfer your credit for use at The Hive, please speak to an IT technician in The Hive Monday – Friday 8:30-5pm or Saturday 10-5pm who can arrange this for you. Please be aware you will only be able to transfer your credit for a period of 6 months until 14th December 2019.

The new top-up kiosks at the Hive will take card payments including via contactless and Apple/Android pay as well as chip and pin, making it even easier to add credit. If you still need to top-up with notes and coins, don’t worry, you can do this at the kiosk located on Level 1. From the end of June, the new system will include a PaperCut portal , where you can top-up your account online, check your credit balance and track your usage, as well as submit print jobs from any internet connected device. This means you no longer need to log on to a PC at The Hive to print and you can even send jobs from home!

Be aware that when you do add credit to the print and copy system no refunds will be given so please only top-up what you need.

We are rolling these changes out between June 11th and June 14th. As we do so it’s important to take note that some services may not be available in The Hive at certain times:

  • From 15:00 on June 11th until 13:00 on June 12th it will not be possible to top-up your print account.
  • Between 08:00 and 13:00 on June 12th no printing or photocopying will be available at the Hive or Peirson Study and Guidance Centre.
  • From 08:00 on June 12th until 17:00 on June 14th, all printers/copiers will be at risk of downtime whilst they are upgraded to the new system.  

Print services at all other Worcestershire libraries will be unaffected. Thank you for your patience whilst we complete these essential upgrades to your services.
